BEM is committed to complying with all applicable laws and human rights principles, without discrimination based on race, color, gender, language, religion, society, assets, place of origin, political opinion, or other status.  The Company is also aware of its own rights, duties and responsibilities toward society and others. The guidelines for managing human rights are as follows:



 

BEM aims to deliver good services to all groups of users equally in order to create equality for both the general public and people who require assistance, such as children, the elderly, and all types of people with disabilities. The Company attaches importance to the universal design of infrastructures and service provision facilities in MRT station areas and on trains, such as passenger lifts, stair lifts, ramps, parking space for wheelchairs on board trains, warning blocks for people who are visually impaired, waiting areas for people with disabilities in MRT stations and on trains, accessible restrooms for people with disabilities and the elderly, parking, signs and symbols as well as the delivery of service, convenience and safety from staff at MRT stations to thoroughly and equally create impression and confidence for users. The Company also permits guide dogs for the visually impaired to enter the station areas and allows passengers to bring foldable bicycles on board to promote traveling by public transport as well as providing other forms of facilities.
